Jesse Ruelas

Jesse Ruelas was born in 1946 and attended Weldon and Clovis High School, graduating in 1965.

He was the owner of the Gateway Shell station for 35 years and Marks Chevron for 15 years.

He served on the Clovis Chamber as the first Hispanic president in 1971. He was a charter member of the Clovis Elks, Clovis Kiwanis, and Clovis Rotary clubs. He served on the board for over 25 years. He initiated and ran the Clovis Food Baskets that feed over 500 families each year. He was VP of the Clovis Boys League and was awarded the Einer Cook award in 1995 and received the Clovis Chamber Civic Award. He is adored by many in the community. He married Catherine Self in 1969 and has five children.
