
Clovis Hall of Fame
The Clovis Hall of Fame began in 1975 hosted by the Clovis Independent newspaper to honor the history and spirit of Clovis. From the early 1990’s to 2009 the Clovis Chamber of Commerce acted as the host of the event and in 2010 the Clovis Exchange Club became the sponsoring organization.

From 1975 to 2018, the Hall of Fame has inducted (awarded) 324 people/families/organizations/ and businesses into the Clovis Hall of Fame, including 32 Citizen of the Year Awards, 8 Service to Veterans Awards, 4 National Recognition Awards, 6 Firefighter of the Year Awards, 6 Police Officer of the Year Awards, 34 Friend of Youth Awards, and 48 Spirit of Clovis Awards. 357 Individuals, 46 families, and 22 associations/businesses have been recognized.

Founders Award
This recognition is intended for long-standing individuals and/or families from Clovis who have contributed significantly to the early development of our community and whose 'shoulders we all stand on' today as we enjoy the community we live in. The contributions of honorees in this category date back at least 50 years and can be traced to the earliest days of Clovis.
Citizen of the Year
Presented to an individual(s), or organization who has accomplished a distinguished deed or provided exemplary leadership to our community during a recent period, generally considered to be withing the past 24 months. While a specific, highly visible contribution alone may merit recognition, the Citizen of the Year recipient will also have demonstrated sustained and active involvement in the Clovis Community.


Spirit of Clovis
Presented to an individual(s), group or organization whose contributions are outstanding reflections of the spirit of our community and whose significant leadership/volunteer service keeps Clovis alive for residents. This group or individual is an example of what makes Clovis exceptional and their contributions greatly exceed what is expected in their role/job duties and requirements.
Service to Youth
Presented to an individuals, group, or organization who has exhibited exceptional dedication and devotion to Clovis and its residents through significant contributions and service to our youth.


Service to Veterans
Presented to an individual, group or organization who has exhibited exceptional dedication and devotion to Clovis and its residents through significant contributions and service to our veterans. Ideally, the honoree will have served in the military and may be on active duty or retired
Police Officer/Firefighter of the Year
Presented to these two individuals as identified by
the City of Clovis public safety departments and celebrated during the Hall of Fame event.


National Recognition
Presented to an individual or organization whose
accomplishments, successes and/or contributions have elevated our community on the
national stage. Examples could include success in athletics, the arts, technology, or
government service
