Greg Adams was born and raised in Clovis. Upon graduation from high school in 2005 he attended the Fresno City Fire Academy. After completing the Academy he became an Explorer with the Clovis Fire Department. He was also able to become a paid-call fire fighter with Fresno County Fire and obtain his AS Degree in Fire Science. In April 2007 he became a seasonal Firefighter for Cal-Fire.
In January 2011 he joined the Clovis Fire Department. He was hired under the SAFER grant program sponsored by the California Fire Safe Council. Greg was one of six that received funding as new Clovis Firefighters.
Being in the Clovis Fire Department's Honor Guard as well as an advisor to the Department's Explorer program have become part of his involvement in activities that are Clovis Fire. Valley Children's Hospital Public Safety events are also part of his volunteering.
The program of which he is the most proud is the research, policy development and implementation of his Department's Active Shooter Policy. Clovis is the only department in Fresno County with a policy of this kind. The goal of this program is to have fire department paramedics and firefighters rapidly enter potentially dangerous areas during active shooter incidents, to treat victims and get them to trauma centers. although this level of action is not common for Fire and Law Enforcement, Clovis is leading the way intaking steps to protect and serve the citizens of Clovis.
