Gordon Pickett

Leader, patriot, educator, veteran.  Gordon Pickett earned the Community award in 2013. During WWll he became a boy scout air raid messenger and volunteer Fire Fighter earning the rank if Eagle Scout. He went on to receive the National Eagle Scout Associations Outstanding Eagle Scout award.

Before deployment to Korea he trained in amphibious operations qualifying as a combat information Officer. He later went to NAS Corpus Christi flight training.

In 1973 LCDR Pickett was honored by all Officers, enlisted men and civilian employees at NAS Imperial Beach in a series of special ceremonies for a revered leader. LCDR Pickett has earned many, many active service awards in his career.

In 1977 Gordon moved to Clovis. He has made too many contributions to our community to list. He retired in 2001 but went on to be elected to the Board of Director of Clovis Veterans Memorial District in 2002
