Franco and Carmela Liberta

Franco and Carmela Liberta were born in Italy. They made their way to the U.S. and immediately worked hard to learn the language and culture. They soon made their way to Clovis and with  Deli's and pizzerias in their background they planned on opening their own restaurant but were told by many that they would never make it. In 1969 they opened Luna's in downtown Clovis, the first Italian restaurant in town. The restaurant did so well they eventually expanded to the building next door. They have always been great supporters of the community raising many funds over the years.

Franco passed away in 1995. In 2003 Carmela and her daughter opened Nonnies House Boutique in Old own. In 2018 Carmela passed away but the legacy lives on. Luna's is still a favorite destination in Clovis.
