Mine Ikeda was awarded the 2916 Community Awards - Spirit of Clovis. Mine attended Clovis High School until her senior year. In 1941 war broke out between the united States and Japan and a year later all Americans of Japanese descent were relocated to the interior of the country. She was not allowed to graduate with her class. At the end of the war she returned to Clovis with her husband, Fumio Ikeda, and their son. In addition to raising her family, Mine dedicated a great deal of time to community service organizations was a member of Dry Creek PTA, the Japanese Congregational Church and the Clovis Community Organization - each a community service organization. She also helped the ladies of Italian Catholic Federation during their annual pasta dinner. A founding mother of the Clovis Japanese American Citizen's League Annual Shrimp Dinner. Over its 50 year span she was responsible for selling 500 of the 1600 tickets for the dinner. She was also a member of the Clovis American Legion Axillary #147 for over sixty years.
