Jim Anderson was born in Talihina, Ok. in 1942 with a heritage of Choctaw and Chickasaw Indian. After high school he worked his way to Fresno graduating from Fresno City College in 1963. He entered Fresno State College but in 1965 he was drafted to serve our great nation. 12 years later he completed his degree from there. Jim spent 2 years in the Army.
Jim joined Rotary in 1985 and served for more than 20 years holding every office there and is a multiple Paul Harris recipient, Rotary's highest honor.
Jim and his wife Fran have served many charitable organizations over the years. Jim believes his life experiences have come together in a meaningful and powerful way to allow him to serve veterans in our community. Jim joined the Clovis VFW Post 3225 in 2011 and was elected Commander 2 years later. He is a member of a number of Veterans organizations and in 2014 was selected as Citizen Soldier of the year at Fresno City College and in 2018 was awarded the Presidential Medal from the Association of the United States Army for his contributions.
