Fran Blackney

Fran Blackney was awarded the 2016 Community Service Awards - Spirit of Clovis. Fran and her husband, Mark, arrived in Clovis in 1990. Shortly thereafter she began working at the Clovis Chamber of Commerce. She was a powerhouse for the chamber and a driving force in bringing more food vendors, to increase profits, at local festivals like BIG Hat Days and Clovis Fest. Over the years she worked diligently to organize and increase the profitability of the two largest weekend events in the Central Valley. Fran was an integral part of the Chamber's communications, business advocacy and special events activities. In addition she managed the Young Entrepreneurs Academy with unrivaled passion and empowering mentorship. Her mentoring lasted long after graduation and many past students continued to stay in close contact with Fran for advice and friendship.
