Donna Melcher

Both Donna, and her husband Ken, had through various projects, developed a knowledge of print media. In 2008 it was suggested that they launch a community newspaper, it seemed like a good idea. Donna said that taking on such an important endeavor filled her with apprehension, but she and Ken were committed to their vision. They had minimal finances but what they had was priceless: they had what seemed like the backing and support of the entire community. They launched the Clovis Roundup in 2009, with Donna Serving as Publisher and Ken handling the advertising side. Together they built a newspaper the community can call its own. She said that in the early days as they struggled to get the newspaper going, she savored the e-mails, phone call and letters of support and encouragement. Donna kept her focus to build a newspaper focused on the Clovis area. "The support from our advertisers and readers...its what's made it possible for the Roundup to continue to publish  while striving for the best and improve the newspaper."
