The Business Organization of Old Town (BOOT) was formed in 1987. It was originally called the "Downtown Business Association" (DBA). Its Constitution and By-Laws were from a prior downtown group from the 1930s.
In 1997 Sharon Jackson assumed the role of Executive Director and continued to develop quality events during her tenure of 13 Years.
In the fall of 2010, the Board of Directors hired Carole Lester as Executive Director. Carole brought new energy to the organization and was willing to add new events to attract more people to Old Town, including young people who would keep business booming. She organized an Events Committee to expand the Farmer's Market. In 2021, Heather Frantzich was named as the Executive Director.
