Wilbur Lose

Dr. Wilbur Lose came to Clovis in 1941 to open a family practice a short time in Fresno and Friant. From 1943 to 1945, Lose the operator and doctor at Sierra Vista Hospital in the old Clovis hotel building. He was founder of the Sierra Hospital of Fresno in the late 1940’s. Lose established clinics in Five Points, Huron and Parlier and worked for the Central Valley Indian Health. For 10 years Lose ran the Salvation Army Service Center in Old Town Clovis and served as a trustee on the Clovis Elementary School District board for nine years. In 1993, Wilbur Lose was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame for his years of service making Clovis a better place.
