Born and raised in Fresno and Clovis, Trenton McGill comes from a family dedicated to public service—his father served with the Fresno County Sheriff's Department, and his mother worked for Fresno Unified. A 2006 Buchanan High graduate, he earned an A.S. in Fire Science from Fresno City College, a B.S. in Kinesiology from Fresno State, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia Southern.
Trenton began his firefighting career with Cal Fire in 2010 before joining the Kern County Fire Department, where he was promoted to Engineer. In 2016, he joined Clovis Fire, advancing to Engineer in 2021 and Fire Captain in 2023. He values the camaraderie of the fire service, where his coworkers have become lifelong friends, and considers firefighting more than just a career—it’s a calling.
Married to Jenna for 13 years, Trenton is a devoted husband and father to their two sons, Kase (11) and Kolt (9). Their lives revolve around travel baseball, AAU basketball, football, and track, which keep them constantly on the go. When not at work or at the ballfield, Trenton enjoys family vacations, weightlifting, and hosting gatherings at home, often accompanied by their dogs, Banchee and Bella.
Beyond his career, Trenton is deeply involved in the community. He volunteers with the Alisa Ann Ruch Foundation, coaches youth sports, and serves at his church and Hartland Winter Camp. His schedule is demanding, balancing shift work, his role as Union President, CPR instruction, and other team commitments, but his greatest priority remains being present for his family.
For Trenton, firefighting is more than a job—it’s a lifelong passion, a brotherhood, and an opportunity to serve the community he calls home.
