Milton McMurty was elected to the Clovis Hall of Fame for his professional contributions to the community. Following his father’s footsteps, McMurty graduated from the University of Missouri with a doctorate in medicine. In 1904, he moved to Clovis then 16 years later established the first hospital in Clovis. McMurty operated the hospital for 57 years and is memorialized in the Clovis Memorial Hospital surgical section.
