James Ware was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 2009 for his role as a community leader. After attending Fresno state James joined the Army, becoming an infantry medic working at the Army Burn Center where serious burn victims from Vietnam were sent. After the Army and standing in the "wrong line" looking for a construction job at the Department of Unemployment, James became a banker for bank of America for 21 years. In 1986, James joined the Clovis Chamber, The chamber at this time was considering filing for bankruptcy. The Chamber owed over $30,000 past due and 3 1/2 years behind on property taxed on their building. With the help of James and potential of Big Hat Day the Clovis Chamber is now recognized for its unique networking and advocacy programs as well as large, community wide events.
