Fred Osterberg

Fred Osterberg was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1992 as the Citizen of the Year. Fred was responsible for the restoration of the "Gateway to the Sierras" sign hanging over Clovis Avenue that welcomes citizens and visitors alike to our city. Fred and his wife Susie owned Osterberg's Mercantile, an antique store in Clovis. He was instrumental in the creation of the Clovis Big Dry Creek Museum and Historical Society, the Business Organization of Old Town Clovis (B.O.O.T.), Old Town Clovis Antiques and Peddler's Fairs, and the Old Town Farmer's Market. He was an active member of S.I.R.S. Fred also supported Fresno County 4-H clubs, the Los Rancheros Guild of Valley Childrens Hospital, Tree Fresno, and the San Joaquin River Parkway.
