Dorothy Harrison

 

Dorothy Harrison was elected in the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1978 for her civic leadership and professional contributions to the community. In 1942, Dorothy moved to Kingsburg from Chicago and became active in their civic affairs. She left Kingsburg after 24 years to become the first administrator and founding board member of the Clovis Memorial Hospital. She was pivotal in the merger with Fresno Community Hospital. Dorothy has received countless awards for her civic defense work such as: Meritorious Citation (from California Veterans of Foreign Wars), Award of Appreciation (from Fresno City & County Chamber of Commerce), and Career Woman of Unusual Achievement (from Business & Professional Women’s Club).
