Don Bruegman

Don Bruegman’s contributed to the growth and success of Clovis Community Bank. He began his banking career in 1963 when he was accepted into United California Bank's management training program in Los Angeles. He graduated from the American Institute of Banking, Pacific Coast Banking School in 1972. Upon completing UCB's training program, Don was transferred to Fresno. During the next ten years, he continued to work for UCB in Fresno, Indio, and Lodi, moving back to Fresno in 1972 as manager of the main branch. He was later approached by the organizers of Clovis Community Bank about the possibility of establishing an independent bank and was intrigued by the opportunity to lead the organization.

The state charter for the bank was approved in 1979 and Don joined Clovis Community Bank as President in June of that year. The bank opened its doors on January 10, 1980. Since its founding, the Bank grew, under Don's leadership, into one of the premier independent community banks in the nation.

Aside from his dedication to providing the best banking services to Valley customers, Don showed his commitment to his community in other ways. He was a member of several organizations including the University of California Task Force, a director for the American Cancer Society, served on California State University, Fresno’s Presidents Advisory Council, served as Chairman of the Clovis Community Hospital Foundation, was Past President of Clovis Rotary and was a member of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce. In 1992 he was the recipient of the first annual Einar Cook Award presented by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce for outstanding service to the community.
