Dennis Hallowell was selected for the Clovis Hall of Fame for his business and professional contributions to the community in 1976. He arrived in Clovis from Oklahoma in 1917. In 1934 he purchased a Texaco station and in 1936 a car dealership. In 1944 he took over the Clovis Chevrolet Dealership. He was a member of the Masons and Rotary Club. He served the community as a member of the Clovis Elementary School Board, the Clovis Memorial Hospital Board, and the Clovis City Council. He helped to organize the Clovis Boy’s League and was a Grand Marshall of the Clovis Rodeo.
