Cora Shipley

Cora Shipley was inducted into the 2017 Clovis Hall of Fame. Her life-long community leadership, particularly the development of Old Town Clovis, has seen the transformation of the historic center of Clovis into a strong civic and retail center. Cora and her husband, Bill, opened their first store, ‘Treasured Memories’ in Old Town. In 1991, she purchased space for her new venture, "Heart’s Delight". In 1993, she opened another store “Ivy and Lace’. Her original store, Treasured Memories, had outgrown its space, so she moved to the location where Gottschalks Music is currently located. She moved “Treasured Memories” a third time to the former Osterburg building on 5th and Clovis, now the home of Goode Ol’ Days Antiques.

In 2003, Cora and Bill purchased an ice cream store on Pollasky and named it ‘Scoops”. They worked with Fresno State’s dairy and ice cream program to create new flavors. She expanded the menu to include soups and more.

In 1990, Cora joined the Business Organization of Old Town and held various officer positions over the years.
