Yoshito Takahashi was elected to the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1979 for his business and professional contributions to the community. During World War II, Takahashi and his family were sent to a U.S. Interment camp, remaining there until 1945. When he returned to Clovis, Takahashi started the Takahashi Farms and a grape harvesting business with his brother. Takahashi was active in numerous organizations benefiting the community; the City of Clovis honored him with the “Citizen of the Year” award. He is the Central Valley Community Bank’s founding director and board member. In 1999, he was awarded the “Order of the Sacred Treasure” by the Japanese Government for promoting cultural enrichment.
