Tokuo Yamamoto

Nominated posthumously by his wife, Anna Yamamoto, for his outstanding service to the community. Yamamoto was interned with other Americans of Japanese descent in 1942 but returned to Clovis to rebuild his ranch. He was the governor of the Japanese American Citizen League's Central California District Counsel (JACL), he served as a regional chairman, district councilman and board member of the California Freestone Peach Association, a member of the Clovis Community Church, a member of the Fresno Buddhist Church, trustee for the Dry Creek Elementary, helped organize local Cub Scouts troops, served on the Clovis Unified School District Citizen's committee, the Clovis High School Board of Directors, the Advisory Council, and president of the CHS Boosters Club.
