The Sons of the San Joaquin were inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 2003 for its Central Valley representation and reflection of the area's Western aura. The band was formed in 1987 by three school teachers, Lon Hannah, his father Joe Hannah and his uncle Jack Hannah. They played more than 200 dates annually, having criss-crossed the country from Texas to Kansas, Utah and New Jersey.
