The Clovis Rodeo Association was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1999. Created in 1914, with the name Clovis Festival Day; in which weekend activates and attractions were sponsored by the Clovis Women's Club. In 1921 the event was held on Saturday, April 23. The event was a combined effort of both the Clovis Women's Club and the Clovis American Legion. This was the First Clovis Day Celebration during which a "Rodeo" was conducted. In1946 the The Festival was officially known as the Clovis Rodeo Association. By 1953 over 20,000 people were attending the event and by 1960 Rodeo prizes were in excess of $9,500.
