After graduating from Fresno State University, he joined the National Guard from 1954 to1956. He was a third generation and active member of the First Baptist Church of Clovis. for over 40 years, Stan drove the roads of California talking agriculture and making deals. 28 of those years were spent with Franzia Brothers Winery. Stan began contributing to the community at a early age, starting with Boy Scouts, FFA, 4-H and Baseball. As years passed, you could find him playing cards at the Clovis Elks, American Legion, or Triple X Fraternity. During the Rodeo Parade you would find him driving a tractor in circles, pulling vineyard wagons with children. He was known as a "big man with a big heart who never met a stranger."
