Lena Clark was an ambitious Young women. She grew up on a ranch on the corner of Locan and Tollhouse. She was the daughter of C. Todd Clark whom Clark intermediate School was named.
At just 6 years old, she underwent a near fatal surgery that left one leg shorter than the other, but she was not deterred and grew into a regular "tomboy" who rode her horse to school and developed a love for football which she enjoyed her whole life. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1924 and went on to graduate college with honors in 1930. She began her teaching career at Garfield Elementary and taught at Jefferson and Weldon for a total of 28 years in the Clovis School System.
She loved encouraging her students to be aware of the environment.
She was a strict but loving teacher. The foundation for life she instilled in her students is part of the foundation of Clovis.
She has been an active member of the Clovis Memorial Methodist Church.
