Ken was born in Fresno in 1942. Ken obtained his degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1965. He obtained his Professional Engineering (PE) license in 1967. In 1969 Ken joined Blair Engineering, a Fresno civil engineering firm. In 1972 Ken convinced the firm to open an office in Clovis. That year Ken became a partner in the firm which was renamed Blair & Church Engineering. That same year Ken built a new home and moved to the Clovis area. Over several years, the firm expanded and moved to various Clovis locations. The firm took on a new partner, Mike Flynn, and became Blair, Church & Flynn Consulting Engineers. In 2005, Ken and business partner Mike Flynn completed construction of the two-story 30,000 square-foot Church & Flynn building in Old Town Clovis to house their growing engineering business.
Ken retired from the firm in 2009, after 40 years of serving as engineering consultant to many local public agencies and private clients. Ken was an active member of the Clovis Rotary Club for 43 years. Â He co-chaired the Rotary project to improve Rotary Park in Clovis. He served on the Board of Directors of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce for several years. He enjoyed involvement in community projects such as the Salvation Army food bank, Rotary Christmas baskets, Community Readers, construction of the Clovis Boys and Girls Club, and other Rotary projects.
