John Polson

 

John Polson was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame for his professional and business contributions to the community. Born in Oklahoma, Polson moved to Clovis at the age of 11. In 1918, Polson graduated from Clovis High School then started working with the Fresno County Agriculture Department. After, he worked with the California Department of Agriculture. He served 57 years as an agricultural exhibit judge for the Fresno District Fair and other county fairs. Polson’s other services to the community include serving on the Clovis Planning Board and City Council, three terms on the Clovis School Board, and two years as Clovis mayor. He was a member of the Clovis Rodeo Association for 46 years and became grand marshal in 1984.
