John E. Good came to Clovis from West Virginia when he was 22 years old. He joined his brother R.E.L. Good working in his brother’s business until opening his own shop a few years later. He owned and operated a grocery store from 1908 to 1945. He purchased stock in the First National Bank of Clovis in 1926 and was later elected president of the Bank. He and his brothers were fixtures in the Clovis community and were known to be invested in the success of the community. For these reasons, John E. Good was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1995.
