Janet L Young

Janet prepared for her career as an Educator by earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development at Fresno State in 1977. After Teaching for nearly 10 years, Janet Returned to school to earn a Masters of Art Degree in School Administration (CSUF) and her Doctorate in Education Leadership at the School of Organizational Management (University of (La Verne) graduating as class valedictorian.

Janet initially served as a first-grade teacher then in many other capacities including resource teacher, learning director, principal, assistant superintendent, associate superintendent, and superintendent. Janet's goal as superintendent was to  pass on the District's long history of core values, high standards, and commitment to excellence by instilling them in her students and her fellow teachers and administrators.

Janet has been honored with the CUSD Crystal Award, the highest form of employee recognition. She has been recognized as a "Top 10 Business Woman of the Year" by Fresno's Marjaree Center; Honored with the Noted Alumni Award and the University's highest alumni Award as the Top Dog. She also received the Clovis Chamber of Commerce Einar Leadership Award.

Janet's 38-year career as an educator and leader of the Clovis Unified School District has a a positive impact on thousands of students and the community at large.
