Hifumi “Hy” Ikeda

Hifumi Ikeda was elected in the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1977 for his business and professional contributions to the community. Being only a fig farmer and softball team manager, Ikeda served in the United States Army during World War II then in Japan with Occupational Forces. He would soon be the co-founder of Clovis Judo Club and serve on the Board of Directors for the Clovis Veterans Memorial District for 16 years. His other honors are serving on the Board of Directors of the Garfield Water District, serving as president for the Clovis JACL and being a member of the Nisei Farmers League and California Farm Bureau.
