Helen Weitzel

Helen Weitzel was nominated into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1992 for her service to the community. Helen was a native of Mississippi and moved to the Fresno/Clovis area in 1950. Helen became involved with the local Girl Scouts organization, serving first as a troop leader, then district chairman, and eventually assumed the role of office manager. Following her retirement, she became an active volunteer with many local organizations including 14 years she and her husband, Vern, chaired the Clovis Jolly Time Seniors. She served as President of the AARP Chapter 1719 and was also awarded the Fresno Madera Area Agency on Aging Senior Appreciation Award.
