Harry and Kate Whiton

Harry & Kate Whiton were inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 2002. Moving to Clovis in 1906, they immediately became active members of the community; opening up Whiton's Cyclery business and distributer for 39 years, which Kate maintained the books. Fire calls would also be received at the Whiton's shop and they would sound the fire siren located atop a high tower. In 1926 Harry was appointed Chief of the Clovis Voluntary Fire Department. Harry was also an active member in the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and the Clovis Masonic Lodge.
