George Kastner was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1979 for his professional and educational contributions to the community. A Central Valley native, Kastner graduated from Clovis High School and Fresno State University, where he graduated with a B.A. in History. He was enlisted in the United States Army Air Force serving four years of active duty, then remained in the Air Force Reserve until his retirement as a colonel in 1979. The rest of Kastner’s career was devoted to the Clovis Unified School District. He served in numerous positions for the district such as, Vice Principal, Principal, Director of Guidance, Assistant Superintendent and Associate Superintendent of Educational Services.
