Earl Smittcamp

Earl Smittcamp was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1976 and nominated for Citizen of the Year in 1994. He was known for his leadership and gifted business skills. Earl Smittcamp served as an Officer of in the Marine Corps for 4 years during WWII; earning the Medal of Honor, four stars from the four invasion he participated, and later awarded the rank of Major. While living in Clovis he was a Clovis Rodeo Board Member and past chairman, named Clovis outstanding Citizen of the year in 1962, Gand Marshall of the clovis Rodeo in 1970, and President of the Clovis Memorial District.
