Darrel Dietrich was elected for the Clovis Hall of Fame in 1980 for his professional contributions to the community. He was an employee for Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) for over 30 years. During his career, Darrel was named “Citizen of the Year” by the Clovis Independent Newspaper for uniting the community in building a house for Emma Traylor when she lost her house to a storm. He was on the Clovis Community Hospital initial planning board, and a member of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club.
