Coach John Baxter

John Baxter was inducted into the Clovis Hall of Fame in 2006 as the Citizen of the Year. During a period of rehabilitation of Fresno States football program Baxter brought his invention of the Academic Game Plan. In 1996, the Bulldog's football program had an average GPA of 2.2 and the worst graduation rate in the country. With the introduction of  the Academic Game Plan, the Fresno State football athletes outscored the likes of USC and nipped the heels of Stanford. The success of the Academic Game Plan has been featured in Sports illustrated and has been used in over 120 high schools and colleges including Clovis East High School.
