Betsy Sandoval

Betsy Sandoval was inducted by the Clovis Chamber into the 2011 Hall of Fame Citizen of Distinction. Betsy was born in Concord, CA in 1940 and moved to Clovis with her family in 1943. At Clovis high School she was active in Future Homemakers of America, Girls League, Latin Club and played on the tennis team. Betsy and Sam Sandoval were married in August, 1961 and parents of three children. Betsy worked as a legal secretary for eight years before deciding to stay home with her children, becoming active in their school activities. She joined the Parents Club and later SART on the district level. Betsy was elected to the CUSD Governing Board in 1981 and served until 1993. She was appointed back on the Board in 1996. She has held various office positions including President.  She was a member of The Delegate Assembly for California School Boards Association, representative to the Fresno County Schools Trustees Association plus being on several District subcommittees. Betsy became the owner of Sam's Farmers Insurance Agency, member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Clovis Community Guild. In 1993 Betsy was named Clovis Chamber "Business Woman of The Year".
